Calves are helping to shine a light on dairy industry at Eaton Community College, through Dairy Australia’s innovative school program, Cows Create Careers – Farm Module.
This is a six-week program that aims to increase the awareness of dairy industry careers in a very hands-on way. Students in Year 7 are being educated by rearing two three-week-old calves at school.
Students have very much enjoyed having the calves, Oreo and Cookies, at school and they have taken turns to feed them twice daily, including Saturdays and Sundays. Mrs Cotterell (Science teacher) has been very proud of the care and attention students have given to the calves and would like to thank all the families, friends and staff who came down to school to help on the weekends.
